70,000 square foot educational facility including site development, kitchen and gymnasium design. Design included HVAC, electrical power distribution, lighting system circuiting, utility and general service area lighting, fire alarm, empty conduit system for voice and data cabling, plumbing, fire protection, and utility connections to within 5 feet outside the builiding wall.
Unique Challenges
The MEP/FP systems had to be designed to meet the needs of the various spaces: gymnasiums, classrooms, cafeterias, offices, and support areas; as well as to complement the architecture and meet the construction budget set by the school district.
Solution
Larson designed the MEP/FP systems based on extensive input and coordination with the school district and architect. Construction costs were analyzed and systems were chosen to meet the budget limitations without decreasing comfort and usability.
