Two-story, 35,000 square foot municipal building. Design included HVAC, lighting system circuiting, utility and general service area lighting, fire alarm system, empty conduit system for voice and data cabling, plumbing systems, fire protection, site lighting and power, and utility connections to within 5 feet outside the builiding wall. An emergency natural gas generator was also added.
Unique Challenges
Designed as a Prairie Style building, the MEP/FP systems for the village hall had to complement the architecture and meet the construction budget set by the village.
Solution
Larson designed the MEP/FP systems based on extensive input and coordination with the village and architect. The emergency generator was selected based on the village's needs, and the other MEP/FP systems were selected to integrate into the buildings unique architectural style.
