Description		Design piping for upgraded steam distribution system.
Unique Challenges		The client company was experiencing bottlenecks in the piping system that severely decreased the flow from a steam generator causing drops in steam pressure. This, in turn, decreased output from the manufacturing operation. The company wanted to upgrade the steam turbine generator and the piping that distributes the steam.
Solution		Larson performed a study of the existing system to determine the cause of the pressure drops and then designed new piping to eliminate excessive losses. The new piping included: 24 inch steam supply from the powerhouse to the paper machine building 16 inch supply lines to each machine several 12 inch jumper lines to clear up bottlenecks
