Structural, mechanical, and site design for a new 2.3 million gallon storage system and truck unloading station. Containment design was expanded to include an existing fuel oil tank.
Unique Challenges
New system had to work seamlessly with the existing system
Client wanted to avoid the maintenance problems associated with conventional agitators used in storage systems
Solution
Larson designed the new system controls, transfer pumps, and pipe bridges so that they tied in with the existing fuel oil storage system. To avoid the maintenance problems associated with conventional agitators, Larson devised a re-circulation nozzle subsystem with pump and heater which provides one turnover per day.
