Unique Challenges
Facility takes any used metal items, including cars and refrigerators, and shreds them into small pieces. The metal is then separated from plastics and ferrous metals from non-ferrous metals for recycling.
Equipment used in this operation is extremely heavy-duty, requiring powerful motors and the electricity to operate them.
Solution
Larson designed a 4,000 horsepower shredder system, including: all mechanical layouts, structural foundations and buildings, and the electrical power systems.
